Hemmings Find of the Day – 1971 Alfa Romeo Montreal

1971AlfaRomeoMontreal_01_1000

While the fact that this 1971 Alfa Romeo Montreal for sale on Hemmings.com participated in a previous Hemmings Motor News Concours d'Elegance didn't directly influence our decision to choose it as today's HFOD, it does at least give some sort of idea what we at Hemmings think of the car. Actually, the main reason we chose it as today's HFOD is for the color: We're suckers for cars painted orange. From the seller's description:

This particular car was manufactured on the 23rd November 1971, and sold by Alfa Romeo to Frankfurt in Germany. The car is 100 percent original, it went trough a complete restoration in 2006-2007 and repainted in the Alfa color "Metallic orange." In 2007, the car was then invited to the Meadowbrook Concours d'Elegance, where it was presented with the new Alfa 8C. The car received a 94.6 points at the Alfa Romeo Convention and received a third place award at the 2014 Hemmings Concours d'Elegance at Saratoga Springs. The car has been the star of many videos and TV car shows and received a third place award, it also appeared in many car magazines and more especially in the two books of Bruce Taylor, Alfa Romeo Montreal. Since 2007, the car has been perfectly maintained and driven regularly in summer to attend car shows and club rallies. Videos, hundreds of pictures and documentation available.
