1957 Dodge Custom Royal Lancer D-500 convertible for sale on Hemmings.com. From the seller’s description:
The Carter four-barrel carburetor topped the 325-cu.in. Hemi V-8 block. It produced 285hp and 345-lbs.ft. of torque at 2800 rpm from its 3.69 x 3.80-inch bore and stroke and 9.25:1 compression.
The vehicle has the TorqueFlite push-button automatic transmission and also features the independent torsion bar (Torsion-Aire) system under the front end.
Some cosmetic bodywork was performed about five years ago to repair rust around the edges. Only the lower white areas are painted; the rest if original paint!
The two-tone exterior paint work plays off the tri-colored interior fabric and trim scheme. The driver’s seat cover has been replaced because of its deteriorated condition but in the same fabric design and style.
The remnants of a nearly 60-year-old build sheet was found in the springs during reseating!
Runs and drives nice — smooth and quiet. Best under the stars on a warm, quiet night!
