According to captions that follow this photo around the Internet, we're in Ferndale – specifically just west of the intersection of Nine Mile and Woodward – sometime during the Fifties. And if we check out the modern-day street view of the location, we can surmise that the photo was taken from the top of what is now the Ferndale Arts Building. But that's all pretty dry – we need some stories and some color to go along with the scene. So tell us what you see here?
