After a 15-year run as executive director of the Studebaker National Museum, Rebecca Bonham retired yesterday, handing the reins over to Patrick Slebonick. The South Bend Tribune took the opportunity to chat with Bonham about her time with the museum and what she considers her finest achievement there.

* As we speak, the Grand National Roadster Show is going on in Pomona, California, and Rik Hoving of Custom Car Chronicle ran through some of the most noteworthy customs on display this weekend.

* Looking a bit ahead now, this year’s Amelia Island Concours will feature a couple of newer concept cars from Joe Bortz’s collection: the 2001 Lincoln MK9 and the 2003 Mercury Messenger.

* Finally, looking a little bit further out (after October, no other day matters to us baseball fans than Opening Day, followed closely by the day pitchers and catchers report), MLB pitcher Daniel Norris will likely once again show up to spring training in his 1978 Volkswagen Type 2 Westy, the van in which he lives a nomadic lifestyle in the offseason, though not without a few speed bumps this offseason.
