For today’s carspotting scene, we’re once again digging through the collection of photos that Joe Sokola sent us of Hartford, this time for shots from the Fifties and came up with three solid ones from downtown. Only the first of the three, however, provides us enough clues to pinpoint a date and location. Based on the marquee in the photo above, it had to have been taken sometime after December 1, 1956, and the location is no longer a street, rather a pedestrian zone along the old state house. Only the tallest of the buildings facing the street still stands. As for the below two photos, perhaps our Connecticut crew can identify their locations. What do you see here?
