For a slightly-above-mid-level Nash sedan, this 1951 Nash Statesman Custom for sale on Hemmings.com has a good amount of flash – particularly on that dashboard – and compelling proportions. Nor are those its only charms, given that it runs and that it remains largely unrestored and yet complete and rust- and rattle-free. From the seller’s description:
I obtained this rare car from Colorado in 1992 and have kept it in an insulated garage in our dry climate here in Alpine Texas. I have the title and records of restoration that have been done. It is all original and complete. There are not many of these around anymore that are actually running. The engine, carburetor, fuel pump, water pump, overdrive, generator, starter, and brakes have been rebuilt with new parts. Runs like new. It still has the original paint and is rust free. It has a manuel 3 speed with overdrive. Restoration process has been on-going but is mostly complete, but must sell as we will be moving and won’t have the garage. I have only driven the car on rare occasions, like parades and it gets a lot of attention. The rubber has been replaced on the doors, vent windows, and trunk, and have new rubber for the front and back windows.
