And almost everything has remained with the car in boxes and crates since then, gathering only dust rather than wear and tear from being on the road. From the seller’s description:
This is an original owner car that was purchased new in October of 1961 and that originally left the Lotus factory in September of 1960. It is a matching numbers car. It is chassis #1344 and engine #8923. This is a stage 1 car. It has the base engine and gearbox. It is a left-hand-drive car. The car comes with everything in the pictures, including all of the old paperwork and memorabilia. Included are the original black-on-yellow California license plates and the California license plates he got in 1963 which was the first year of the California yellow-on-black license plates. The car was taken in for restoration in the mid 60’s and picked up a short time later completely disassembled and not restored. The parts were placed into storage in a garage. The car has been apart since the mid 60’s. This is a project car that has the majority of the pieces. What I have noticed missing is one seat, the carburetor, windshield wipers, battery, parts of one window assembly, the speedometer, 3 foot pedals, the windshield, steering wheel and brakes.
