1973 Ford Maverick with the optional 250-cu.in. inline six for sale. From the seller’s description:
1973 Ford Maverick in excellent original condition, and in perfect driving condition.
I have purchased the car from a Dealer in Indiana, who bought it from the original owner in Nevada. The dealer never drove the car and didn’t know much about it (he said that he bought it because it looked nice, but that he was more of a mustang/camaro guy). However, for those who know, this is an excellent car that Ford came up with by combining two other models, the Pinto and the Comet. It was an affordable alternative to the Mustang.
There are not too many of these cars around, at least not in this condition. This car has an original interior in mint condition, with all of the little details and chromes in their right place. Also, it currently has a modern bluetooth radio system with speakers, but I do have the factory original radio in working condition. I also added and oil/volt/water gauge below the dashbboard(see pictures). The car was purchase by me in may 2010 with aprox. 47k miles, and is currently with 50.047 miles – so, on average, the car was driven by me around 500 miles per year.
The exterior, body and frame is in excellent condition. I must say that given that the car was in a dry enviroment such as Nevada/Indiana, the original paint held quite well given over time. As, I live in New York and altough the car is properly kept in a garage, the humidity here has taken its toll, and some superficial oxidation can be found in a few areas around the car. No deep rust or rotten areas, as I maintain the car always in clean and neat condition. The tires are new, with very few miles on it, I’ve changed them las year.
I have all paperwork for services I did, and the ones before I purchased the car. The car is clean, the title is clean, and it has just passed the NY State Inspection last September, 2016. The car is eligible to get historical/antique plates, but I preferred not to for insurance purposes.
