A half-century after the Ford Motor Company shocked the world by sweeping the podium at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the International Motor Racing Research Center in Watkins Glen, New York, will present a discussion on Ford’s historic Ferrari-stopper, the GT40 Mk. II, by author Preston Lerner. The presentation will take place at 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 10, at the Racing Research Center, which is located at 610 S. Decatur St. in Watkins Glen.
Lerner is the author of Ford GT: How Ford Silenced the Critics, Humbled Ferrari and Conquered Le Mans, and has bylines on racing history in publications as varied as Sports Illustrated, Wired, Smithsonian and The New York Times. He teamed with longtime Hemmings contributor and photojournalist Dave Friedman to create the GT40 book, which received strong, positive reviews.
